The film star Libuse Safrankova as the leading character, is a young woman put upon by her stepmother and stepsisters. The movie employs a twist, though, when a handsome prince comes knocking, Cinderella does not easily fall into the prince's arms. In this version, he must actively persuade the young woman who is a skilled sharpshooter prone to wearing hunting outfits. Cinderella also has three wishes at her disposal, gained from three magic nuts. Cinderella's strength of personality and control over her own destiny, in addition to the wonderful set design and camerawork, distinguishes this version of the story and enriches its timeless grace.
